I admit this is a poor workaround but at least 'something'. That way someone who is on V2 could copy layers to V1 and provide this file to collaborators on V1. In some cases it is possible to exchange content between V1 and V2 files by copy and pasting layers. For image formats such as JPG or TIFF, your image will open in the default Photo Persona. by clicking File>Open and then navigating to your image in a specified folder. I do understand that this may not be (easily) possible in a non profit or volunteer context. You can also open files: by dragging the file from a folder onto the Affinity Photo app’s icon. A commercial context should sooner or later make it possible to upgrade everyone involved. If you are working together with this many collaborators (which is a very promising example of the spread of the Affinity suite) you are either working in a commercial context or in a non profit context. It seems the answer in this case is everyone has to keep using v1 until everyone has v2, just utterly bizarre to me compared to every other piece of software I've used (not just adobe, but also any office program, any program with its file format I can think of actually can save old versions: matlab, autocad, etc. I have one computer in this house that can take the install, but I wanted the software on my laptop for remote work as well, and it's got plenty of juice, but falls just short of the hardware cutoff for Win 11 (my CPU, which obviously can't be upgraded in a laptop).Anyone who works in a large distributed team in different orgs or over different machines without a site license or fixed upgrade cycle? I have Designer on 2 of my own machines (only Mac upgraded to version 2) and work with between 5-10 colleagues, most of whom are still on V1. I'm sure there's some kind of rationale here, and by and large, I have been, and remain, a faithful fan of Affinity's work, but this is quite a blow. I don't understand why your software build targets such a recent version of Windows, considering Win 11 cannot yet nearly compete in terms of market coverage with Win 10. This is pretty crappy, locking this software behind such a recent OS release. I've tried installing from the installer, claims I need 1.0 but Windows Update will not offer me that update. I've tried installing from MS Store, it says I "own it" but won't install. I'm mainly adding this comment to follow for updates when we can get a real installer, instead of broken down MSIX crap. None of these suggestions are working for me.
